Founding Springside Art in 2026, James is an oil painter who lives and works in the Hudson Valley, New York. Painting from life, his mission is to understand what it means to be human by capturing ephemeral beauty and emotion in every day moments big and small.

Following the proud tradition of American landscape painters, James draws inspiration from the beauty of his surroundings, painting landscapes, city scapes, and still life.

From a young age, he was overwhelmed by the majesty of nature - the dappled light through canopies of leaves and flowers, the setting sun, the fleeting magic found in twilight, and the ever changing canvas of the seasons.
